Sustainable innovation motivates this new blog

This blog is devoted to Sustainable Innovation. The core of Sustainable Innovation is to harness technology and innovations to the service of human development and sustainable development. So far the innovation policy of industrial nations is concentrating to rise productivity and - by that - to growth of gross domestic production (GDP). The "formula" of innovation has been IPG:

Innovation -> Productivity -> Growth.

Climate change and human development are challenging that formula. The emerging new formula is related to renewing all kinds of capital, not only industrial capital. That is the development must be based on balanced renewing of human capital (capabilities of people), social capital and natural capital, as well as industrial capital. The whole rational of development can't be nothing else than well being of people: good life. Innovation must be an effective tool for fostering good life in planetary level. So the new formula of innovation is IRW:

Innovation -> Renewing -> Well being.

My intention is to keep trustful and interesting blog, which provides readers new insights and interpretations of items related to sustainable development and climate change.
My emphasis is on Finland and its development. I think that this perspective is globally interesting because Finland has been a leading country in innovation and ranked first by World Economic Forum's Sustainability Index. Finland is also a small Nordic welfare state, which are interesting "social experiment". If Finland could take advances in sustainable innovation, it's a signal of hope.

This new web site is a node in a worldwide initiative to change the way of world to meet the challenge of global warming.
